Removing scratches and polishing guitar

hi guys

can anyone provide tips on how to remove scratches on a glossy guitar? it's not the type of deep scratches but rather those shallow pick scratches.

i know that some people use car polishes and scratch removers to do so, but is there a step-by-step guide of some sort that someone can provide to help me in doing so? like first use which solution to buff out the scratches, then which polishes to give the guitar the "ultimate wet look".

been using the polishing packs that are sold at yamaha produced by the planet waves company (cant remember the name), but these dont remove scratches so i decided to post here haha.

haha thanks!

don't bother to remove scratches. Only the first scratch is painful. The next scratches is not so painful anymore. Just keep on playing. If you want to keep your guitar in pristine condition, just put in an air-tight-humidity-controlled glass cabinet the very first day you bought it :D

yea, the first scratch is always the most painful. but while some guitars look good when reliced, there are others that look nice when its all scratch-less and wet looking xD

so im trying to find various solutions (my friend recommended car polish and scratch removers) to buff out these scratches and to give the guitar the "wet" look.

where can i get Meguire Scratch X that ryan mentioned?

i just went homefix today, yes they sell scratchx. but one more question. after scratchx, what do you use to polish the guitar? or does scratchx do that job too?

ok much thanks! shall try it when next pay day comes and its time to change my strings again xD

btw, does anyone use the small guitar maintanence pack that yamaha sells for 6 bucks? i used it twice already, but the effect like.. no effect lol.
