Hi, I'm in search of a keyboard with outstanding sound quality and a good 'feel' on the keys of the keyboard. It also needs to have a volume control. I'm more in to pop than classical songs. I was considering the CASIO PX-320 KORG LP350 YAMAHA CLP330 YAMAHA DGX630. My budget is S$1k-2k. I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions on which of the above piano / keyboard should i get in concern with my needs. Thanks a lot !:D

If you consider action, sound quality (both instrument & audio) and don't mind the traditional cabinet design, the clavinova is a clear winner. Nevertheless, lay your hands on each of them to like what you feel and hear, especially if you are constraint by budget.

Hi, the Yamaha P155 is coming out soon (I think), if it has the same keybed and action as the P140, I would highly recommend that.

How bout waiting a little while more to try that out before making a purchase?

Take some time to go try out all of the digital pianos before committing serious $$$ :)

Hopefully the clp330 will still be $2080 with free headphones!...or you'll need to wait another half a year for a discounted price.

Incidentally, have you tried all the models you've shortlised or are you buying based on specs and budget?

My last piece of advice - try the CLP320 for the GH effect (which is likely what P-155 is using), compare that with CLP330's GH3 effect and ask if you feel the difference. Other than that, if you compare the specs of the P-155 & CLP330, you can easily spot similarities and important differences. Having said that, do note that stage pianos and clavinovas are not made the same in terms of overall performance/output although the exact sampling technology is used. They serve different needs of musicians.

I'm not a good or pro piano player but I am very meticulous about the piano instrument sound in synths or digital pianos. To me, coughing out $2k for an instrument is no decision that I would want to regret later. I've not tried the CLP300series pianos, but the CLP270 at my house now is just a wonderful joy to play although I'm suppose to sell it for my distraught friend!

Remember - Hands on keys, play and listen :)

Well, all the options that i've shortlisted were based on specs, budgets and amount of space required. I know the CLP330 would win in action and sound wise.. but i've got insufficient space for it. =X Guess it would be either DGX 630 or the P-155. Actually i've already got an upright piano in my house.. but its already 10 years old without anyone using it and it has weighted keys i think.. not GH keys. I only know its from Yamaha but don't know which series .. its not stated lol.

PS. I'm overseas currently... thats why I'm unable to test it now.

hi there, i just purchase a CLP330
i used to own a Korg SP250, which is essentially the same as Korg LP350
DGX630 sounds thin, you can forget it
now, P155 is very good, contains CFIII pianos like the motif XS and CP33. the touch is like CLP320, which feels good.

Korg SP250/LP350 touch is on the heavier side, and the sound is darker than the Yamahas.
So it depends on you , very subjective.

So, test the Korg see if you like it. currently on clearance at luthermusic.

So based on your list, I can recommend either Korg SP250/LP350 or P155.
