yea i LOVE frusciante's guitar face.. SUPER FREAKING orgasmic. N i love all the random jams they do in between songs live. they are good lah.. But yea also i agree that their older stuff are WAY funkier and raw, but i still appreciate all the albums after. Even stadium arcadium was my least favourite, there were still about 2 or 3 songs that i felt could stand up to their very own greatest hits

before stadium arcadium its the wh10 which is kinda smooth sounding, slane castle kind of sound, During the stadium arcadium tours its the dime wah, its more edgy and scorching.

they rule my world. my favourite band for years, and years to come.
i love all their material, right down from hillel's era, to mother's milk, bssm, one hot minute (a little less, because johnfru > dave), cali, bytheway, and yes, even SA. they've changed, no doubt. but i don't agree with bssm era is better than current era. it's a progression, different mood, different feel, and an added layer of superiority. bssm is stripped raw funk rock, SA stamps their authority over their musicianship, with a style that only RHCP can come up with. have you noticed just how much good backup vocals are there in SA by john? he's improved so much. the extra guitar layering. the turn it again solo is just a treat to jam too, especially if you're a drummer.
bssm is a classic. best damn album of the decade, maybe the era. so many favourites inside, oh i could just go on and on and on about that album.
do u notice every album is different than their previous? californication is more rock, by the way is very mellow, and SA is funk-oriented mixture of pop rock. some people hate that they are changing, i'm loving it.
slane castle is the best damn concert ive ever seen, be it live or dvd. only band that has come close to such good live concerts is muse, and that too is a sort of different feeling... kinda like majestic because of the superb stage setups. rhcp's live are just tasty and soulful. love the improv jams, the different riffs and solos, chad's extra oomph to compliment every different progression, flea... being just flea and oh-so-godlike on bass. and anthony's vocals. john sings better, but rhcp is not rhcp without anthony. his lyrics, accent, style, love it. think sir psycho sexy. how can anyone else do it with as much style as he did it? haha

i disagree with that, his stuff in rhcp are more rhythm oriented. his solo works are somewhat more melody oriented. He changes his playing style rather constantly. Look at how he play the californication jam 5 years ago and how he played during the SA tour, theres a different feel, and different concept to it.

I think every r.h.c.p concert is worth watching. For those of you who have listened to Live in Hyde park, the bass and guitar solo just before californication and after zephyr song is just mind blowing. Flea's dress sense is something you dont normally see elsewhere and hes just plain mad which is why i respect him ALOT. I didnt really fancy the Navarro days, personally the only song from that era that is worth mentioning in the ranks of blood sugar sex magik is my friends and maybe aeroplane. But back when they first started out with hillel as the guitarist their really sounded different, for example freaky styley was an interesting album but not one of their best and also OUT IN L.A was one album i am not a big fan off. The Hillel days did define the early R.H.C.P and he was the one who introduced the trumpet playing flea to the bass. Hillel dying of overdose prolly was a wake up call for flea and anthony. The scary thing is that it could have been them. And if it wasnt for him I wonder if flea would ever pick up the bass.Yet again i wasnt born then. 2 covers done by R.H.C.P that you guys shld watch out for is their jimi hendrix cover , Fire and also one of my personal favs their cover of Iggy Pop and the Stooges search and destroy. If u guys want i send it to u or something. All in all R.H.C.P has changed over time. If only they did come out with more albums just like Blood Sugar Sex Magik. I miss the Blood Sugar Sex Magik days although that was 1991 n i was born in 1990.Hahahahahahaha. And if you are a R.H.C.P fan you really need to read Anthony's auto biography Scar Tissue.ITS A MUST READ. I could lend it to you guys if u want.just please please remember to return it to me.

Hehe, everyone will have his opinion on this. For me, it's either funk oriented, or twiddly rock/pop oriented songs, and in that instance, frusciante's solo influences has made rhcp lose it's funky bits of the first few albums, you just have to contrast niandra, sounds inside and even to record water for ten days, to know where it's coming from.
