what do you use to record ur own voice to listen to? so i know if its good or not. so far only 3 people have said my singing was good? because those 3 were the only people who have heard me sing before. but really what can i use to record my voice?

I use a $10 headphone / mic china brand. I might spent $100-200 but quality may be slightly better only I feel.

For a start. You might want to explore recording with a cheap and simple equipments.

Headset mic with audacity program or adobe audition program.

I recommend adobe audition program if you just want to record with ktv music or minus 1 track.

Yeap.. I'm using Adobe Audition as well.
Just click the little red box marked "R" on the track, click the record button and you're off :D

I used to use a phillips karaoke mic (around $20). Now I'm using a Shure SM58 that my friend lent me. It's plugged straight into the pc, and I use Audacity to record.

It took some time to adjust the levels to get optimal recording though. The soundcard has an adjustable level, the windows mixer has an adjustable level, and Audacity itself has a third level. You want all to be as loud as possible without clipping. It's still not optimal but good enough.

PS: Audacity is free but Audition is commercial software. Not that that makes a difference these days, with bittorrent and all..

I use Windows Movie maker. I guess it is much simpler and straight forward.

Oh sorry btw I am recording video with a web cam + audio with a cheap mic... Quality so-so not bad not very clear. Sometimes still can record my neighbors walking footstep and some car engines..
