Nah, i dont think they'll sound the same.
I recorded my voice in the phone and posted it around here somewhere. My friends told me i sounded very different. xD
So in any case. If the phone recording's nice, most probably ur actual voice would sound nicer. =D
Anyway. Does listening to your own voice sound the same as other ppl listening to ur voice?

ehh if your phone really has a good recorder, it may sound similar.
but definately cannot compare to mic recording.

i'm not an experienced vocalist, hell i don't even sing but the logical answer is no. Since what you perceive to be your own voice is actually a combination of sound traveling internally and externally to your ears relative to your body. In fact, most people are initially surprised when they found what they sound like to others.

There will always be a slight difference with the actual voice u hear, and the vocie that goes through some recording device.
Unless you are sitting right next to the person who is singing, usually, most of the time what you hear is always "processed"
But there are good sound/recording systems that are able to produce as quality sound as good as sitting next. That is why recordings during concerts are emphasis alot... u dun wanna screw up.
Other than that i tink the best home recording device should be some mic with a sponge, or those that can pick up quite clearly your voice whether its $5 or $500.

Yup i think ur voice can also vary depending on the mic. I like wireless mic better. Not so much echo.

hi, it will definitely not sound the same. the recorder on your handphone is not really meant to do any kind of professional voice recording, whereas the recording studio is!
the main difference is in the microphones used for recording. the phone mic is, well, not really that great, and it does not pick up all the tonal aspects of your voice. the recording studio mic should be relatively more advanced, and some microphones can even cost up to a few thousand dollars! these microphones will be able to pick up your entire voice, including the low, mid and high tones, and make your voice sound nicer.
of course, there will be a difference between what you hear in yr head when you sing, and what you hear over the speakers or from a recording, because there is such a thing as external and internal hearing. even when we speak, what we hear in our heads and what others hear from us is quite different.
my advice is, get a professional recording from a good studio to really hear the difference in sound quality. ;-p

Fuyoo. That's a deeeep question...
I don't think it sounds the same? Perhaps backed with the fact that if you sing, you're listening to your own voice externally (via ears) and internally (body resonance)..
I remember I sounded completely different singing live and on recording; the tone especially just changes, it went higher.. I hated it and I've avoided recordings ever since then lol

I had the chance to try some "better" mics. but i guess u guys shld have try even better once, with a little story behind it, just for *entertainment*...
I was the sound man for this particular event in the sispec mess. They have a 60+ input mixer, many many big n small amps, many speakers due to the big mess at pasir lebar . It was some event where COA would come, n sing his fav karaoke songs.
I get to test the whole sound equipment, ensure its ok, and the was my whole coy was shifting tables n chairs while im... singing*** as part of my job. This mic tat i tested, was so good, perhaps witht he sound system. I place the mic at my tummy area n it still can pick up my voice. Maybe i had good projection u can say but, tats one hell of a good mic + sound system.
I tink anyone who sings with this will get very very good satisfaction, as u wont get tired easily, and it can pick up very soft voice, so u wont need to push ur vocals... btw i mixed the voice n music well enuff... so to speak, i havent met any good systems other than tat... SAF has alot of $$$

I think it's both... but mics are definitely the key thingy to getting the sound recorded right... that's why there's all kinds out there..
