Recording laneytt head straight to comp

Hi guys,

Didnt know where to put this, but anyway, I have a record out jack output on my amp, can I plug this straight into the comp to record? Do I need to connect the cab also? dont want to blow anything up. Also I can use a regular guitar cable to go from record out to line in on the comp? Thanks

is it a head with a tube power section? if it is you'll need to connect the speaker cab or a loadbox. regular guitar cable with a 1/4inch to 1/8inch adaptor will do fine for connecting to your comp..if you have an audio interface it should have 1/4" inputs.

recording out will probably sound quite crap, but use some manner of cab simulation (impulses,guitar rig,pods etc) and you might have something workable

any small mixers not going to help you connect to computer,its just introducing another shite element into the signal chain, noise/bad pres/eq etc

thanks mate, yeh just gave it a go just now, sounds pretty bad.
