Is it just me, or are the rates ridiculously low?

Was doing a quick trawl through the forum and came upon your post. And yes i think it's a bit low. I think it's a case of the low end guys getting shafted. It's absolutely like how the government tenders for work and approves the lowest bid, ensuring that everyone get's the shittiest quality, and killing whatever talent there is.

Or the rates are just for the recording only. The hire rates for the musicians, the composer and the recordist are different. :)

the rates are for composing only. meaning melody line and some simple chords?

The sheet music as in melody and chords? Hmmm... I believe it would include the entire arrangement. Why else should there be differnces in between the quotes? Perhaps the quotes are based on "per minute". That makes better sense. Either way, they are still very low. I wonder how in the world they arrived at those rates.
