Recommendations on multi fx?

I have a budget of around $200-$250 for a multi fx unit but have no idea what to get. All I know is I wanna have a classic rock and a metal sound and some other stuffs for me to meddle with, what do you think is the best "all rounder" multi fx for my budget? And does anyone has the Zakk Wylde overdrive? Was thinking of getting that too....

don't buy a multi fx, be a pedal whore like the rest of us.

..try the light blue boss one (i have no idea what the model number is) or the zoom gfx, they're alright i guess. but if you really want multi-effects i would look at the tc electronics g-system at www.tcelectronics.com , it's really nice to look at but it's expensive.

Hey jon, chill on the dude! He's beginning his guitar quest for tone... We dont' wanna make him broke yet do we?

Anyway, Rollarcoaster, just go thru a couple pages of this section, there's been a couple of discussions on various multifx... you will get a good idea from those discussions.

Try to save a lil' more for a Korg AX 1500. Very nice distortions most of the time. Modulations are pretty cool too.

Zoom GFX if you dont mind the sound, have very good gain circuits. They can rly drive the gain up. Which you might be interested in for your style.

sound wise korg ax 1500 is not bad, but the screen of the ax 1500 is very blurry when u stand up and play under some lights or in the case of gig, sunlight

haha...i'm an analog lover turned into a multifx guy. not enough dough to fork out for all these..so..yeah...

well, for that range, save up a few bucks more, get the ax1500g. or if you don't mind the sound, get a zoom gfx. yeah..depends on the sound you wanna get. i find the distortion on the zoom stuff quite digital, and the only one tt could get to what i want was the korg at that price.

of course, if you wanna splurge..go get the xt live/tonelab se/ax3000g. definitely better. for the boss stuff, the light blue one is the me50, dunno y...but dun really like the boss stuff...haha...

Hmm, i recommend you go get a Korg ax1500g... but if you go for pre-amps... get the ZOOM g2 cos hey, its damn good for a cheap price...

How bout the zoom 505II? I see someone selling it here for like $70!!!(cheap!!!) I dun wanna spend lots of money on a multi fx, I jus wan something for me to play with until I know what I want.....

if you want i'll sell you my zoom 606 for $5 more. The zoom 606 is basically an improved version of the 505II + and expression pedal.

get the korg ax1500g .. all kinda stuff u would wan .haha. the tone is gd also . if ure willing to spend more . i would recommend the korg ax3000g.

for rock/metal .. the korg cuts it man.

or u may wan to try a podxt ? but the podxt . needs patience to handle lar .not that easy to get ur dream tone .ha
