Recommendations on ESP guitars.. pls?

are eclipse guitars worth their price?
other there any other good brands / models for a budget of 1.7k?

Every guitar is worth its won price. What are you up to? Metal? Rock? Pop?

EMG or ducan? Need floating or fix bridge?

Personally I like eclipse with EMG.

i'm neither an avid singlecut guitar fan nor an EMG enthusiast, but i love my Eclipse... 8) when it comes to ESP, it's about owning a good, reliable guitar.

My ESPs - An old style pre-lawsuit Explorer and an Eclipse CTM-I Paul Landers model.
Quality guitars. Both have their own characteristics and very dfferent tone. The Eclipse of course have a fat and thick sound. The Explorer on the other hand is brighter sounding and possess a tight bottom end that makes metal riffing so effortless. Both comes stock with active EMGs (81/60).

It's bolt-on... I bought it from Guitar77 in 2004. Used, but still in good condition.

i thought EMGs all sound pretty much the same in whatever guitar their in? not too sure abt actives anyway.

if i want an esp with a warmer tone, (not really into metal) and nice cleans, issit possible? will the seymour-equiped ESPs be a good choice?

rimuel : haha..yeah..it does resembles his guitar...but i put in the cats cos i like the tone i get from it..its fat.. warm..and it handles gain well...
