hi i need recommendations for cheap and good small all tube amp....good for playing blues jazz and rock leads...preferably smaller ones

Fender blues jr seems like a popular choice..
Swee Lee used to sell Peavey Classic 30, they are pretty good too. Have a cult following in the States. Too bad they stopped bringing it in. Any Swee Lee staffs here? Tell your boss leh..

if you don't mind the EL-84 tone (fuzzy drive...), the Laney LC15 is a contender...

is there anyway to smoothen out the fuzzy drive when cranked? say changing out the stock tubes and speakers? i have one unit but the drive is sort of raw and fuzzy.. is that typical?

I'm not sure whether this would work. But maybe the THD yellow jacket (tube adapter) might be able to enable you to put a EL34 or 6L6 in.

that's the typical EL84- the more you turn it up, the more fuzzy it gets... but some people get a kick out of that kinda tone. they'll turn the amp up, then roll the guitar volume off tastefully to create that clapton 'woman' tone...

Just checked it out.. The yellow jacket allows you to put EL84s into EL34 and 6V6 etc slots.. Actually, say if you use a pedal to drive it clean, would the amp breakup in a fuzzy manner together with the drive from the pedal? And actually how would changing the stock tubes to say JJs or EHs and the stock speaker to say eminence or celestions help with the tone? Would it say lessen the fuzzy characteristic of the amp and maybe bring some clarity?

if you drive its clean channel, then it won't be a fuzzy menace... 8)

err but it's a single channel amp.. if you use a pedal to drive it, wont you push the amp to overdrive naturally too?
