hi all. i know theres a thousand of these threads out there in the forum but i hope that u guys can still help out.

I'm looking for a new practice amp. I play mostly metal, hard rock and also would prefer a decent clean sound. Budget would be around 200 to 400bucks

Currently looking at the roland cubes. does it suit my style?

THanks in advance

yeah man for sure.roland cube is the way to go.but you gotta try it out yourself every amp that is in your budget range.there might be some unsung hero beneath the big dogs that provide more metal muscle at better price.maybe a valbee?

AVT 20 also does the trick well.... If not Line 6 Spider III amps sound pretty good for heavy stuff (if not a bit digital sounding). Sound Drive amplifiers are pretty bang for buck as much as solid states are concerned as well...

Valbee is worth a try too as its a full tube amp...

If the roland cube doesn't give you enough distortion, get a cheap distortion pedal to go with. But it all comes down to you, try it out. All amps sound different, choose one you think sounds best.

Cheers,
WWH

firstly, are you entry level, or a hardcore metal player already?
if its entry level, getting a valbee, vox pathfinder (with a distortion pedal to compliment for heavy distortion) are decent choices.
personally, i am against the marshall mg15.

if ur into metal already, cab size should not be smaller than '12...
i'd recommend the cube30, marshall mg30, peavy bandit 112. these amps should be around the 300-400 range...

i gues im into metal for quite some time already. hmm any recommendations on where to purchase the cube30 at the lowest price possible? i think the price that sweelee is offering is quite high
