Hi, I'm looking around for a distortion pedal, with a budget of about $100, any recomendations are most welcomed. :)

wad kind of music u play, depends, if its old skool rock, a boss sd1 will do, if its metal or sumthin heavies, den a boss metal zone will do, or u can even try a zoom 505ii, should be slightly below $100, its drive is kinda digital sounding, but u get 10 diff types i tink, good to experiment with

bro- save a bit more & get the LINE6 Uber Metal pedal (i assume you are into high gain, otherwise, correct me please...). it has 3 drive voicings, definitely value for money.

you can read my review of it here: http://www.soft.com.sg/new/modules....tart=165&sid=96036b25cc37c13ec2687072463db14a

the DS-1 is a very mild distortion pedal, if you prefer the BOSS brand name & want a slightly harder tone, the DS-2 would be a better option.

the value-for money option IMO is Ibanez's Tone-Lok Distortion pedal- not too mild, not too excessive, just nice...

i wun argue wif dat, i find the ds1 a bit weak for metal, but its ok for rock, as for the ds2, ive neva tried 1

good evening vivien i'm pleased to converse with you! muahahaha.

anyway. boss ds-1. maybe call up davis tomorrow or something? check out the price for a new one

i saw a pic of 1 of satriani's old pedal boards, he uses 2 ds1s, anw, e ds1 doesn't give a clean boost, its still fuzzy even with e dist rolled all e way back
