Try City Music in Selegie and see if they still have the Charvel 3B for sale. I got mine for $400 but now maybe only the ugly colours are left. Its cheap but really good. Neckthru body with pre-amp and hardcase!

y dun u try yamaha bass, their basses have better reputation than their electric guitars IMO

i agree too, at least imo

I agree with them... i think yamaha is a good bass to have.... i think their bass is the best of the mortal basses.... of course cannot compare to the Heavenly Fender basses.... but i think they r better in terms of money value compared to other guitar brands.

just my 10 cents, try the yamaha bb series bass la,or the cheapo 1 also can
im not saying that im good, but through my experience, yamaha is the best bass to scale man, for fender or squire, quite hard la IMO,since the body abit curve, so u must get used to it, but hey, its ur first bass, no need such a good 1,as long as its playable and give u a good tone, just grab it man
u can save your leftover money for higher end bass

also, Yamaha basses are well suited for our humidity. You'll find that most of the cheaper range of Ibanez basses tend to warp after a couple of years

neck warping isn't about brand name exclusively. it's about how well you take care of your instrument & knowing what to do if you perpetually expose it to temperature changes (typical singaporean: air-conditioned home, bring instrument out to play in non-air-conditioned venues, neck warp, endless whining...)

in any case, a mild neck warp could be rectified via truss rod adjustments, if it fails, then question the quality of your acquired instrument/ your diligence in instrument care.
