Recommendation for warm Blues pups

Not too sure about blues pickups, but you can try out some Fender Texas Specials I guess.

Getting a S-S pickguard is quite rare - most shops sell their Fenderesque pickguards in 3 pup form or 2 (H-H) form.

You could just wire your guitar such that the middle isn't wired, similiar to what Eric Johnson did for a while. Buy a megaswitch, then depending on taste, you could wire different combinations depending on the number of wires the pickups have, for example:

Neck only
Neck and bridge in series
Kill Switch (Don't wire anything)
Neck and bridge in parallel
Bridge only

Schematic wise I won't bore you - just drop by a friendly guitar tech and tell him your specs, or drop by Seymour Duncan forums to ask - some of the pros are there. :)

P90s would fit the bill.

Stock Gibsons, PRS, Lollar, Duncan, the range is endless

But IMO. P90s sound even nicer in hollow guitars

Good luck!

optionally - hum cancelling Dimarzio Virtual Vintage series, models = 'Heavy Blues' and 'Virtual Vintage 54'

or non-hum cancelling makes, the SDS-1 or FS-1.

Do note that this is not the right way to wire a kill switch. You are leaving the live input hanging, which will cause noise and also pops when selecting it. The proper way to wire a killswitch is to ground the live.

Having the above combination in a conventional 5 way selector is going to be a problem also. I'm not sure if it's possible.

Blues or Blues Rock tones... this is quite a subjective description especially concerning the quest for the right pickup for that wide ranging style.

There are many options available for pickups from vintage teles, strats, stack humbuckers to full humbuckers...where do we even begin ya :)
However, I can offer one tip and that is to choose a pup regardless of brand or model with outputs no greater than medium. This is to help you maintain a good dynamic control and picking articulation especially used among classic era blues masters. Best used with a nice full tube amp where possible but if you have to use a solid state amp then I would recommend also looking into a Bluesdriver pedal as this pedal reacts very well with picking dynamics and rolling off of the guitar's volume knob.

Any warm blues pickups to recommend guys? Anyway, anywhere can i get special pickguards? I would like to have a S-S instead of a S-S-S on my strat.

Ya I think you're right about that.

Need a megaswitch for the combination. But I'm a little lazy to figure for him a theoractical situation.
