recommendation for pedals

I thinking of getting either distortus maximus or t-rex mab overdrive. i noe one is a distortion and another one is an overdrive. i'm always lost on deciding which one to be my main tone.

i'm currently using a jekyll & hyde but its about to die soon i guess...

songs i play are mostly alternative. like creed, alter bridge.
sometimes abit more heavy like hoobastank, a7x
and abit of rhcp

confuse man... any suggestion?

The stuff you play is quite heavy, so I'd definitely say go for a distortion pedal. An overdrive pedal is kind of like a mild distortion pedal but smoother, whereas depending on the circuitry, a distortion pedal can go from crunch to heavy distortion.

Why is the J&K dying?

MAB od is not really designed for standalone purposes. Stack it and it'll push your main drive for more gain.

distortion - hard clipping
overdrive - soft clipping

it really depends on the pedal. a single fx can have a wide range of tones. its up to you to decide which is useful. if you can't decide, then maybe either one is ok, wont matter too much.

if not, buy both. buy all.

so if i get krank as my main drive... then use add in the mad od as a "extra bite" for playing solo...

Depends how you arrange your pedals. Different arrangements=different sounds from different pedals.

That'll be good. But why can't u get the mab od and use it to boost ur J&K? Whats wrong with it?

cos my j&k dying... goin to spoil soon... everytime when play the sound abit "oo oo ah ah"
any now i can only get j&k version 2 which is totally a different kind of sound liao
