HI all !

Any recommendation for a good practice amp that would accomodate the low b on a 5 string? say around 25 - 35W?
Im looking for something with CD in and Headphone out
:-)

Thanks!

sw35 has a tweeter. i've never used it before but i've used a sw65, it was a really good amp for its price. i had it for quite some time before selling it to get something smaller

+1 on the soundwave ... own the SW35 myself and it works very well for an amp its size. circuitry a bit noisy though ... if you don't mind the noise then everything is in a neat little package for you ... =)

hi

hi exin,

when you say noise,...what kind? hisssing sound? is it a bad noise? feedback or something?

hi cheyen,

it's normal circuitry noise due to the cheap electronics they use. like how you would hear slight hissing tone if you turn up your amp volume to the max ... it's normal .. just that for this soundwave series it's quite pronounced but it's not very annoying unless you are extremely particular about it.

if i can live with it, you can. trust me, it's not a bad thing.

my previous Hiwatt Bulldog amp was extremely quiet ... sadly they don't produce that anymore ...

I have the peavey max 115 before,..then decide to sold it,.really quiet amp even to the max,. but under utilised as i use headphone for practice,....so i sold it away.

now im looking for a more practical amp,..i'll try our the after eight,..

:-)

i used to own the SW65- gave it to my dad, he plays bass more often than me.

bought SW35- sold off because stopped playing bass for a while.

currently own an SW20 for a no-frills experience.

i've had no noise-related problems as mentioned in this discussion.
