Recommend mini keyboard

Ok, I need a small portable polyphonic keyboard with 37 to 44 keys. I am referring to those with built in sounds, not midi controllers. I am referring to something like those Yamaha PSS portasounds but they seem to be out of production as I don't see them on sale anywhere now. I have tried those "toyish" ones but most of them are not polyphonic or support up to 4 notes only. The best I can find are those Casio with 8 note polyphony but I hope to see more options.

I don't need anything fanciful, just basic sounds with more than 8 note polyphony, and small in size will do. Does anyone have any suggestion?

Sorry, but there's almost no niche in the market for what you're finding... Keyboards like that were common in the 80s (Casio SK-1, Yamaha VSS-30). I own one myself, and you're right - they support up to 4 notes only and aren't velocity-sensitive. Too bad a MIDI keyboard won't fit you, because Korg microkey is great - it has 37 keys, is velocity-sensitive, and has extended polyphony. Once again, it is difficult, because you need a portable solution, and portable devices work on batteries (5 of AA-size or something similar). So it is predictable they don't have those functions you need because it would consume more power.

In fact, I'd like devices like this to be brought on the market myself, but as for now, I prefer my Casio for playing in the parks/outside. There's alsoa MIDI keyboard AKAI LPK25, it is small and versatile and is a perfect addition to laptop. You just throw it in the bag and compose virtually anywhere. However, it is also PC-dependent... Having two octaves, it's more suitable for arranging than for practice. If you play piano/keyboards well, the ultimate solution would be korg microkey + laptop, because it will be most close to the feel of a real instrument. MicroKorg may have been the best option, but as far as I know you need to use adapter with it... And also there is Roland Juno Di - it is a mobile synth, but absolutely not mini. However, if you're OK with its size, it is better than everything else aforementioned. All in all, it's confusing - as you see, everything has its pros and cons!
