Im looking for a good distortion pedal (something that can sound slashy? preferably).
I owned a boss sd-1 btw.

I like the pedaltank G-2 distortion pedal for the slash classic rock sound.

You could look at marshall amp emulating pedals such as danelectro coolcat distortion, biyang ds-7/ds-10 n the G-2 for something value for money

If you have the bucks you can go for a blackstar ht dist tube distortion pedal, that can probably completely nail the tube tone slash has i feel

Try MXR Distortion III. Rather cheap pedal that can let you sound slashy. Check it out on youtube proguitarshop. Had a few times where i thought of changing the pedal for its lack of distortion but could never find another that can do as well as this pedal for its price.

Dano CC Distort. For 40 bucks, you can't go wrong. And it is a fantastic pedal. Underrated, cause all the attention goes to the CC TOD v1.

I agree with the CC Distortion. At that price it is seriously difficult to beat for a Mashall-esque tone and goes from low-med gain to high gain stuff. Cleans up pretty well with the guitar knob if needed, true-bypass to boot. And it's red! It does sound a little bright though YMMV.
