Hi guys,

I used to play an electric guitar and i am currently planning to get an acoustic guitar. Need some help from u guys to recommend me a few guitar models to try out. Please assist me too by telling me where the guitar is sold so I can go down to the place.

I currently have a budget of around $300 (max $400) and I'm looking in brands like Washbrun and Epiphone but I'm open to other brands too as long as they are of good quality for that price and can last long.

I hoping to get an acoustic electric guitar (acoustics with built in electronics). The only specifications I want is a Solid spruce top

Also I'm planning to play main stream songs and songs by artist like Taylor swift, John Mayer and Jason Mras.

Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Are the tanglewood guitars at tymusic all solid cedar top? That's what I see on their website. Anyway what is the difference between solid cedar top and solid spruce top.

there is a variation of the configuration of specs there are mainly

for tops
laminated cedar or laminated spruce

solid cedar or solid spruce

I think the tonal differences are that cedar is much warmer and more low-mid sounding than spruce
spruce is brighter and more high-mid sounding

my tanglewood acoustic is a solid cedar top and i really dig its warm and dark tone. the playability is absolutely amazing. action is low but the note clarity and resonance of the guitar is really good

My J&D DG-Solo Cedar CEQ cost me under $350 and has a solid cedar top and Fishman Isys+ electronics. Doesn't sound bad at all. It's also available with a solid spruce top. Same price. Can check it out at Music Theme. I tried both back-to-back and chose the cedar as I prefer the warmer tone.
