Hi fellow softie, I seek your opinion who u would recommend for a fret levelling as well as pot change. I have been out of touch who is doing a good job nowadays. I have patronize Beez and SV before for general set up but not a fret levelling as yet. Your advice pls. Thanks

done all my fret leveling at SV guitars. No complaints. mike does a decent job at a decent price.

pot change can be done at SV as well although beez has always been the main man for electronics but its not rocket science for mike to deal with . he does a good job as well.

Thks to your recommendation. I went ahead and sent it in to Malcolm. Will
collect the guitar tonight.

A few questions. how do you know your guitar needs leveling? Is there choking? Which portion of the neck? How is the action? Is the neck warped / out of shape?

Well to be entirely sure, bring your guitar to Guitar Connection. They will identify the problem accordingly.

Nice plug relinquish, but just wanna share my experience here....

GC has got some nice vintage gears in their shop, granted they're higher than if you buy overseas. There's just not many used gear shop in Singapore, its a cool niche they have.

Things might have changed, but the last time my friend went there for a guitar set up it wasnt a pleasant experience. We were both pretty noob back then, and didnt know much about set up. My friend wanted to get his action as low as possible. After the 'set up' was completed, it turned out only the saddles were turned afew notches and the guitar still had similar action. Cost a grand total of 38bucks.

In the my friend went to Beez who finally got the job done as he requested. Turned out he did some truss rod adjustments and added a shim(who would've thought!?).

Anyways, if any have Malcolm's contact, it would be cool if you can pm me. thanks!

Another great guy is Goose. The guy's attention to detail and workmanship is superb. His charges are very decent too. As for Guitar Connection, let's just say if you have nothing good to say then don't say anything at all. Here's Goose website which also has his Facebook page...
