Hey everyone, I'm trying to decide what guitar to get next year.

I'm either going to get a Fender Strat (USA) or a PRS SE Single Cut Trem.
I'm a Les Paul user, so I decided to get the PRS SC. I heard PRS guitars are good, so I want to try one out, but...

At the same time I also feel like trying a new guitar design, the strat. The main problem is that I can't afford both, so what are you're opinions on which to get?

PS: Could anyone tell me the prices of these guitars? I think my estimations might be wrong :p

seriously, consider those options only when you have the money. you will only feel miserable thinking about it everyday.

Actually I don't give it much thought at all, since I already have another guitar, but still, I'm interested to find out what everyone thinks about the guitars.

A MIA Fender strat standard is around 1.8k if im not wrong, and the prs SE singlecut trem is $950 i think

Agreed! STRESSED EVERYDAY! :x

I can't afford both too so this is what I'll do,

Save up money and get the PRS

Then,

Save up more money and get the Strat, maybe not a Fender. :D

Save up more to get the PRS not the SE models ;)

Well, what PRS can I get for around 1.7k?
Anyone know approximately how much an SC245 or 250 costs?

lol, I think I'm really starting to aim abit high though...
that always happens to me when buying stuff. First $25, to $50, to $100... and all the way up, then after that feel like getting something faster instead of saving, then aim down again... then up down up down cannot decide :p

I'd recommend that you get the Strat for tonal versatility. Brendon sells them at about $1.6-1.7k new.

If you are set on getting a PRS, do consider the Mira, which retails at $2.3k. It has a switch for coil-splitting, which will give you single coil tones.

If you are willing to spend about $1.7k on a guitar, why not consider getting the PRS SE AND a CIJ Strat? A secondhand ST72 (which goes on sale pretty often here) should cost you about $700, and the SE can be had for about $900.

You might want to invest in new pickups at some point though.

You can get a guitar coil-tapped for $35 at G77 actually. I'm thinking of getting only one, which is why I decided to ask around which people like more before going down to check myself.

And 1.7k's my budget :p Anyone know what PRS I can afford? Anyone know the price of the Starla? Looks attractive :D
