been looking around for free tabs but it seems lots of tab sites had already been clamped down by certain governing body in the US. Do u guys know of any sites that are still active?

Yes I know abt ultimate-guitar...but most of the tabs there require you to have guitar pro software which u have to purchase.

There aren't many text tabs available already

may not be as good
