Re: Can we still bring along our Guitar on board?

Just curious, can we still bring along our Guitar on board when flying with Singapore Airline?

Normally, what kinda case do you use to carry your guitar when traveling abroad? Hardcase for check in or softcase to carry on board?

yeah you can, and should bring your guitar on board. try and put it in a hardcase, in case hit a turbulent spot in the air, don't want your guitar to come crashing down on the floor in a soft case.

just ask the stewardess to put it in the coat rack for you. or if your tongue is glib enough, you can talk the stewardess(or steward, whichever makes you happy :p ) into reserving one entire overhead locker just for your precious instrument.

don't ever check it in as baggage. may not come out in one piece, even in hard case.

Thanks, iansoh. I always thought that a hardcase guitar case will keep your precious guitar from harm. Hmmmm In fact, i thought of checking in
my guitar with my hardcase. Well! guess now, will take it with me
on board. :D

Any of you have ever encounter any bad experiences for checking
in your guitar when you travel abroad?

No bad experiences. When i took a guitar onboard, i dumped it in the overhead compartment and let the steward/stewardess know. They'll "protect" that compartment and not let anyone else put stuff in it. Quite cool actually heh. Anyway, the guitar was in a gig bag, and it came out fine. I think a hardcase in the overhead compartment would be extremely inconvenient to handle; putting it in there, and taking it out.
