Rattling strings. Help!

I recently changed my bass strings and my E string started to buzz horribly. The rest of the strings are fine. I have been using Rotosound .45 for the longest time and decided to switch to Sadowsky strings to give it a try. My bass neck is straight and I can't figure out what the problem is. Is it the nut? Or are Rotos and Sadowsky strings of a different thickeness? Am using .45 for Sadowsky as well. Or maybe it could be the height of my saddle. I did try adjusting the height but it doesn't seem to work. Maybe I need to adjust it more?

Anyway, do give me your opinions and suggestions. Any form of help is appreciated, thanks! :)

.45 is the thickness of the G string (non wearable ones), you need to know the gauge of the E string which is the one you're experiencing trouble with. It's most likely that the roto's had .105 and sad's has .100, OR, the ends of sad's are tapered hence you'd have to raise the bridge saddle till it makes up that difference.

Since the other strings all seem fine, what I'd suggest is raise the saddle till you reduce the buzz to your liking. Report back with results!

Cheers
