i'm posting this coz i find this CD mix interesting. its a Rap + Metal/Hardcore/Grunge/Alternative/BritishPop collaboration. its unlike the Linkin Park/JayZ collab out to make money (i guess, i might be wrong), but more of gender bending collab. check-out the slayer/iceT collab.

...

whoa!!! I first listened to the judgement night OST when I was 17. That was in 95 when I was in JC.

That's one classic album. I esp liked Sonic Youth and Cypress Hill. Talk about being stoned!!! mwahhahaa

Think another big OST which affected my youth was The Crow OST. Blew me mind, of course, it doesn't take much to impress me. :p

ooooooohhh...classics of different eras.. :D

the SPAWN soundtrack has done me a lotta good..
soundtrack for many an animation project..hehehe.

love Atari Teenage Riot!!

Judgement Night showed me that Rap and Rock can live in harmony.heh.

on the subject of genre crossovers, my fav albums, which are generally metal but intermixed with lots of sampled stuff are these:

Pitch Shifter: Infotainment

Godflesh: Slavestate

The spawn soundtrack looks interesting.

The slayer/ict T song isnt bad

what about Anthrax - Bring the noise :D

Ghetto gospel - elton john/ tupac ... a good song

yup, fear factory, godflesh... love them when i was much younger. i refer to them as industrial. too bad that godflesh morph to scorn. makes me want to cry thinking of that... loved the bands that came out from Earache label...
btw, anyone remembers Rocket Scientists, a local band. sounds just like from Godflesh...

Oh yeah! :)

I also like the Remanufacture album.

A widely ignored should-have-been-classic mutant thrash metal band is Mordred - with two great crossover albums "Fools Game" (ok - more Bay Area Thrash) followed by "In this Life" - the funky thrash one - much heavier than the Chillis ever were, but still with that groovy bass and slash chords.[/quote]

i can remember them too! they are funk+thrash (ppl dun call them metal then). can't remember the songs, but remember seeing the guitarist wearing striped stockings under his skate-shorts! some of the members go on to form Infectious Groove (same genre as mordred) with Robert Trujillo (metallica now) on bass.
