I would like to know, how to make the huge huge great loud loud loud MUTE sound. Anyone share? o.o

Anyway what's guitar set up? o.o

They say I need to go to setup my guitar every half a month

i've played that song a quite number of times. you have to really whack your strings. very hard. If you're not afraid of your guitar getting small scratches then it should be ok. practice on a cheapo guitar if you have one... go to youtube and search for the live videos for that song. you will be able to see.

Oh, will the string snap? and how many time must we strum for 1 mute? *Tzz Tzz* like this

in response to your 2nd question, set up is just maintenance. check intonation, adjust nut and truss rod, adjust action, restringing and stuff. i don't think you need to send your guitar for a set up every half a month though, unless you really abuse your guitar, and even then i think your guitar shouldn't require setups every month even. and for Creep, you mean the sound before the chorus right? it's just distorted muted open strings. and yeah hit the strings really hard. try muting the strings behind the 2nd fret and playing the first 4 strings. hope i helped. :)

the geetar doesnt matter.

Its the pedal. Google for marshall shredmaster. That is the pedal that do only one thing good and that song immortalised that chug chug sound. If try to google, i believe there will be many sites that link that pedal to the song

Its a long discontinued pedal thou. Price wont be too cheap. Over the last couple years, there were few of it seen in local market with the price ranging around 300-400sgd.

So without pedal, we can't do that sound?=(

er, mine never snapped. for each cha-chak, its one downstroke and one upstroke.

look at the video.

look out for Jonny Greenwood. the one with the telecaster.

you still can do that sound. any high gain distortion pedal should give you a sound decent enough for that. i used to use a boss ds-2, and an ehx metal muff. i haven't played that song in ages so yeah.

yes, if you want that exact sound.

no, if you just wanna capture the essense of it, being a thick, tight and gritty sounding distortion. Try any eq to boost your distortion.

another factor wud be the amp and speaker. It will be hard for small amp to get that big sound. If you are using a small practise amp, it will be rather hard. Try at least a combo amp with 12' speaker and at band jamming volume to be able to hear the impact.

edited: That chug sound, is more to muted strings sound. So a bit of trial and error is needed to get close to it.
