Questions on Musicman LUKE

Hi fellow softies, i am currently in the hunt for a musicman LUKE and has done some prior research. Just wanna know if there is anyone out there who has first hand experience in owning one, so that i can get some advice as to how the LUKE performs in terms of built quality, tone quality and general feel of it.

Just some background, i am actually looking for a versatile guitar that can cover many grounds i.e. contemporary, blues, pop, rock and metal. One more thing is that i wanna know how the LUKE's neck feels like......from what i gather the current LUKE has a soft V neck which i have never tried before (f.y.i i have actually tried most of the common neck types in the market but have very little experience with musicman except for the JP6).....does it feel anything like a strat V neck?

If possible it would be great if someone can explain what's special about the LUKE Blue finish cause i am still undecided on the colour.......i saw some pics and vids and it seems like it is silver sometimes or a very light shade of blue, which kinda confused me. I am kinda caught between sapphire black, sterling silver and luke blue.........damn.........

Lastly i would hope that someone can let me know how much the LUKE actually cost fully loaded with piezo and matching headstock. To say the truth i am currently caught between the JP6 and the LUKE so any comments or advice will definitely be great to help me decide better CHEERS n THANX!

Well i have never owned an emg fitted guitar but i have heard counless songs and demos of EMG stuff.......well i have to say that they do sound different from passive PUs and i have heard and read some comments that they do sound sterile.....i am not sure how much truth is in those comments but from what i heard through the demos, they do sound good with a kinda fatness that is hard to explain.

I do not have mch experience with emg, so for those who has any experiences with them be it good or bad, pls just share with me. Thanx!

The neck radius is pretty wide, so in this case, very easy to play. However it features a soft V profile, that isn't my thing, but maybe others'.

Also, definitely not a sucker for the emg60, but the SLV on the neck and bridge are awesome. Worth the dough imo

Oh i see, hmmmm i am abit sceptical abt the soft V neck profile but i have read many good reviews abt it. As for the EMG 60....i thought it is an 85 in the bridge and 2 SLV single coils in the neck and middle position. Saw some vids of luke on youtube and his tone is fantastic, but just alittle observation......his tone do sound abit fuzzy, is it an inherent thing with EMG's or just his rig setup?

i dont believe in the "sterile" thing with EMGs, its all about how you colour it. gilmour's tone sounds insanely fantastic.. however i believe there's something with the feel about emgs, whether its compressed or whatever, i havent tried for myself too.

Yeah I agree with u that EMG has a unique voicing and very quiet that give their PUs a modern voicing. Perhaps this didn't appeal to the purists. Any other comments?
