Questions on getting a pickup into an acoustic guitar

Hi guys, I have a yamaha FG730S acoustic guitar. I love the sound from this guitar. However, this guitar doesn't come with a pick-up. I would love to have a pick-up for it so that the sound projected would be louder. I've asked the sales person in yamaha about it when I was buying this guitar. He adviced me not to install a pick-up for it because it would affect the overall tone of the guitar because of the drilling and the presence of the pick-up. So I would like to ask you guys for advice if that's true, or could you recommend a good place for me to do this installation? Currently, I do not have a budget for it, so it would be good if you guys can provide me with a rough estimation of the pricing too? Thanks alot!

Take it to city music , buy a pickup for them and get them to install it and yes it does affect the over all tone , try using a piezo pickup instead

well, i havent really installed a pickup on my acoustic guitar before but in my opinion, i think it does not really affect the sound much.

most importantly, are you going to fork out a few hundred bucks on a good preamp-pickup system or cheap ones?

If u gonna fork out a few hundred, maybe u wanna try b-band. It cost $250+/- i think...

depends on what pickup bro , if you have to put in a preamp . You gotta drill which will affect the tone of the guitar . If its a standard piezo , nothing much will change . There are other pickups as well to consider. Go check em out
