Question on Korg NanoKontrol

Hi Softies. Does anyone know whether if Korg NanoKontrol would be able to auto-map with ProTools RTAS/TDM plug-ins?

I went down to City Music recently to demo it but they have only got Ableton Live for me to demo. And in Live, I will need to do manual mapping one-by-one before I can use it as a controller. But the staff told me that it's able to auto-map for some software, but they do not know whether it will auto-map in ProTools.

Basically I'm thinking of buying it to control my ProTools RTAS/TDM plug-ins instead of using the mouse. And I'm hoping to get one which is small, cheap, and does not require me to manually map each knobs one-by-one before I can start my session.

Unfortunately for nanokontrol, you will need to do the mapping manually by yourself but you can save the scene and load it everytime you want to use the nanokontrol, so its not much of a big deal for the price. Otherwise, you should go for the novation product like the nocturne if you really want automap.

I've gotten my nanoKontrol to work with PT8 using the guide found below:

http://trikome.com/blog/2009/02/27/how-to-use-the-korg-nanokontrol-with-protools-8/

it may not work EXACTLY as you want it to be (for example, the buttons obviously for solo and muting does other functions), but if you're not familiar with mapping manually as what alshit mentions, it should still works pretty well for you as a basic guide before you move on to learn how to map the keys. ;)
