[Question] About Repertoire (Mr. FGL especially, come in!)

If Mr. FGL is looking at this, kindly shed some light.

I saw your band's blog, the list of songs you guys have under your belt is, don't mind me, "humongous".

In terms of repertoire, do your band memorize every single song and is able to play it anytime upon request? Or, need some refreshing.

Which means, your band thinks that this song is a no-problem to play, played, and covered well. So in future if there is a function which requires you to play, all you guys need is some refreshing.

Sorry the thing about "repertoire" puzzles me. Thanks

Can't find it anymore, but softies should know which one.

Syne of Time I think was it not? Paiseh, forgot link.

Hiya bro ...

yes the retro groove blog has many songs but actually we have MORE coz I havent updated the list for a couple of months.

Yes, we have every song memorized (music and lyrics - we dont use music stands on stagge or in te studios) and can play upon request. However we practise every Fri and we do run thru some of the songs during practise from time to time as refresher. When we do our set s(especially dance sets) we never plan the set lists. I just call out one song after another on the spot to suit the feel of the crowd and venue (just before the ongoing songs finishes, I will inform one member who passes info to rest of members on stage) ) and the band kicks in from there. We believe in non stop sets especiallythe dance set whereby even a moment's stoppage could mean lossing the dancing crowd.

One of the best crowds we ever had was during a coporate show foo Citibank at Bintan. 1s & 2nd set wwere about 25 mins each but the last set (dance set) lasted slightly over two hours. Non stop. We love these kinda gigs.
