I think the rehearsal suites are a little pricey even though you have some good equipment.

bear in mind that a lot of kids visit studio's to rehearse. it may be a little pricey for those kids to afford.

all the best with your new studio
:)

I doubt the target audience of a studio with higher end equipment are kids with tight wallets to begin with.

I like it.

The problem with the cheapo rehearsal facilities is that the gear is in very poor condition...especially drum kits. So if its well maintained and priced too high for kids to come in and abuse the gear then good!

I would love it if someone actually designed a rehearsal space PA with proper monitoring...no need to have FOH cabs in the corners of the room but set it up as you would on a real stage with drum fill and monitors.....

Very constructive comments guys. I love it. "gkinsingapore" that is one of the main things I was thinking about. How ever, during the many promotional seasons, everyone will be welcome to try out these studios at the usual "standard" rehearsal rates.

But I believe with a single fee of $50 membership it would be a really good deal. All rates on rehearsals will be at promotional rates (minus $5).

I would also like to interest the youth too and help the scene by harvesting the music that a lot of local bands have to offer. There are many marketing plans taken into consideration which will be all part and parceled of the recording services the studio will provide.

I see no one has used the polls to vote. Is it not working?

gkinsingapore:

no need kids to come in to wreck a studio. even adults are capable of that. :)

i feel a business will be good to cater to all walks as there is rental for owners to be pay and all business should be welcomed rather than having a specific crowd to target. i think there will be more kids with more time who jams more frequently than the average working adult.

like FGL said. boon has a pimped out room as well to cater for those who want that little more from the equipments. but of course that comes with a slightly higher price tag. I remember there was a disco ball hanging in there last time i visited. don't know if it's still there. that room reminds me of a ge tai stage... hehehe

maybe special discounts can be offered to students who can produce their student pass might help bring in more kids and awareness to your new studio.

I myself would like to jam in a studio with high end equipment and wont mind paying a little more.

just my 5 cents worth
:)

Of course things can be worked out, epecially when it comes to he marketing. Though the rehearsal side of the studio will remain as a side dish

The main course lays within the recording studio.

Many thanks to all the replies.

Ive seen Boons studios pimped out room. Yes, very big studio. Honestly though, does the drummer need that many cymbals? Lol.

just a suggestion.

have a a little wider variety of high class amps. the patrions have options of which amp they want for the jamming session. so when they book, they can specify what amps they want, of course subject to availability. eg i may want to play a vox this week and a marshall the next. this feature can cater to a wider target audience.

this is a guitarist's point of view. for drummers, different brands of drums(i dont know anything about drums) etc etc. in short, ur services are tailored to the specific requirements of your clients.

Rehearsal room 1 = Rehearsal room, for band practice.

Rehearsal room 2 = Recording room when not in use for recording.

So as I see it I only really have one rehearsal space to offer on most days, so that means only one rehearsal room to upkeep.
