Queen Musical - We Will Rock You

lol in the show i watched MiG bumped into a girl then said "sorry lah", tell me if he does that for every one? hahaha. my friend was like.. how i wish that was me lah

sorry to be a wet blanket but this is what i thought of it.

The band was just awesome. I almost fell of my chair when they lifted the veil to reveal the two guitarists, one of whom is only 23!!!

The visuals on the LCD displays were awesome too..but i found the storyline a let down. Even more corny was the dialogue, especially between Scary Bush and Galileo. I could not fathom why people were laughing when the jokes are the sort you hear on a schoolyard when you're 10!!..very lame..

the old bohemian, Pops, was probably their saving grace. good lines and he interacted with the audience in subtle and obvious ways. Really enjoyed his performance eventhough it only shone at the end.

The first half was a bore, save for the familiar queen songs. I didnt like most of their voices too. Killer Queen had a good voice that could nail aretha franklin but sounds very very strange when powering Queen songs. Imagine Aretha Franklin singing Queen numbers.
Yes, i know it's supposed to be a tribute but maybe I dont like revered Queen songs being adulterated by half-rate singers. Maybe i've been exposed to too much American Idol, I dont know. hah.

Another thing to think about: Touring shows from broadway usually comprise second or third rate actors/singers. The real top performers dont tour. They stay at Broadway. I watched that on a documentary on the Broadway musical scene some months back.

Hi guys!

I watched WWRY on Tuesday 15th April, and to my dissapointment, Galileo was not played by Mig Ayesa that night.

Does anyone know if Mig was sick or has left the production?

And who was the stand-in that night?

It was a great performance, but my wife and I were really hoping to see Mig in action.

WAH SERIOUS!AH didnt know about that!Must be some lousy under-study!

can't expect the leads to perform in every show right? every production has understudies and from what i heard from my friend, the the galileo understudy was impressive too.

anyway, i had a rocking great time at the musical, caught it on sunday (100th performance of the tour!) and watching it again the coming sunday (last show)! very exciting indeed.

I did say it was a great performance! And I had a great time too!

So, was Mig performing in the show you caught?

A friend of mine who has seen Mig, and the understudy, in the role, actually said the understudy was better! Anybody know the understudy's name?

Saw it on the opening night. It was amazing. The live band played a flawless show and the singing was really good.

I loved the Singapore culture references like PCK and Bugis Street, lol.

Watched the show twice. The 2nd time on closing night, was in first row(did anyone else happen to be there on closing? :) ), love the show to bits! Oh yeah I think someone mentioned the guitarists, the lead, Ryno Zeelie is 23 and the rhythm, Nick Kendall is only 18. (:

oh yeah, and if anyone wants to know more about MiG Ayesa, who played Galileo Figaro, go visit his site at MiG - The Official Site (:
