Queen Musical - We Will Rock You

So who's seen it yet?

Headed to the Esplanade with my friends for Sunday night's performance and I was absolutely blown away. The musicianship, cast performance was top-notch throughout the entirety of the three-hour musical.

I was also fortunate enough to have been able to cover the press call/backstage walkabout as my assignment for today. (totally flipped when i was told about it)

So just thought I'd share a little about the musical. LONG LIVE QUEEN!

Well just some funfacts:

- MiG was one of the finalists of Rockstar INSX and also performed in RENT.
- This production of WWRY is actually of the South African Wing.
- Drums, Bass and Sythn samples/setup are identical to that used by Queen.
- The music director is ONLY 25 yrs old. (impressive)
- Even more impressive, one of the guitarist is 23yrs old, and started touring when he was only 17.

I'm gonna catch it this sunday can't wait! LONG LIVE QUEEN!! I pray that Brian May will pop out and maybe play a solo for one of the songs! I saw a video where he played the solo for Bohemian Rhapsody at a matinee show in London. Ah but chances are slim :/

saw it on sunday night too. 7th row from the front. excellent stuff. the sound in the hall was good, as usual. the band was amazing, and the actors all had brilliant voices. plus the references to other great rock songs/bands were so fun to pick out. and the singaporean references made it extra special.

you also cant help but feel....uplifted(?) after the whole show. it was really a very good production. i saw the ABBA production a few years back... Dancing queen was it? i cant remember. but this absolutely PWNS the abba one.

A MUST SEE! starve if you have to!

Well I've finally seen it and I must say I agree with what lars ulrich had said about the show. It was just amazing. I got seats at the foyer stall and the sound was really good from where I sat.

At the end of it all, seeing the whole theatre giving a standing ovation was just magical. The songs were all quality. Probably the closest I will ever get to the real thing. Should catch it while you still have the chance.

AMAZING. AWESOME. i just got back from it, it was so bloody awesome, a must watch, even if you're not a Queen fan, its realy mindblowing. The music was so good, i didn't even know there was a live band until the screen went up.. Really 100% must watch, get your tickets!!! something i'll remember for a long time to come.

just came back from we will rock you! it was just mindblowing! i was sitting 3 rows from the stage. MiG pointed at me at the end! Woo! The cast was great! MiG and the Killer Queen really got me! As they said above this is a MUST for Queen and non-Queen fans!
