Hey guys,i'm a newbie, and was thinking of getting a edrum kit,coz i'm staying in a HDB flat.I've been reading around, and more or less decided on the Roland TD-3,but i noticed that it only came with 2 tom-tom pads.Is it possible to add another pad to act as another tom,and how much wuld it cost? Thanks!

u can add as many toms or cymbals as u wish, as long as your pocket can handle.
its also depends on how many spare inputs the td3 has.

Cool man. i have a TD-7. and i seem to prefer this TD-3 more.. sheesh.. but they still make TD-3s? i thought the bigger the number. the later it was "invented"? i got my TD-7 like 11-12 years ago man. and TD-3 sounds like such an old old old model.

nope ure wrong, roland has an odd way of naming their products.

in order of release (i think)
-td5
-td7
-td7turbo
-td6/td8
-td10
-td20
-td6V/td12/td3

well, dats a rough estimate anyway. juz to let u know dat td3 is one of the newer modules dat they offer, but not necesarily better den the older siblings.

hey but you do know that the TD 3 is basically just a drumset - the only other real capability it has (as far as i know) is metronome. If you want an e kit that has songs to practice to this might not be the one for you. i think it's 1800 at Swee Lee. Have you tried it? One is on display at Swee Lee Sims Drive now.

heh
i added all those in one line cos im not sure which actually came out first....
anyway im sellin my TD6 for 1.8 if anyone is interested. do check my selling thread in the classifieds or PM me

Nah,i haven't got the chance to try it out...Besides the TD3,i was looking out for the Hart Prodigy...Any comments or reviews on it??

i think EZ music or something sells hart - their ad is on the soft homepage.

as for the TD 3, do go and try it out :)

if i am not wrong, HArt uses roland brains, so technically, they should sound the same. i could be wrong though haha.

it is possible, i think its about another $100++, to get a pad similar to the ones on the td6, anw i think that its quite value for money to get the td3
