PX4D Strat Jam

Haloo, as requested by some fellow soft-ies, i've put up some sound samples and include a song demo in a vid for the Korg Toneworks Pandora PX4D. This gadget/trainer can be used by guitarists and also bassists coz it has 30 bass presets as well (but sorry i didn't feature the bass presets coz me no bass guitar lah...)

Part 1 - I played and featured just 12 guitar presets (out of total 70)
Part 2 - As for the song demo, i came out with a simple (and yet messy, haha) rock composition but everything you hear is done exclusively using the PX4D presets and my Fender strat (except the recording is done in GarageBand)
The RHYTHM mode, which has built-in drums & bass rhythms, i used 8BEAT & 8FILL presets, laid out a couple of tracks, cut & paste and i did a bit of mix & match.
Main guitar solo i used NEMO preset whereas both harmony solo and rhythm guitar i used SLIPNOT preset

I used this device mainly to learn guitar riffs using its PHRASE TRAINER mode. For its features and price of not even 200 bucks, it's a thumbs up

Wa very tempting bro.. feel like getting the machine myself. muhahaha!! u got very cute and funny cats!!! great stuff man. i like it. by the way, the drumloops in ur demo song. is it coming from the machine itself?

Great stuff!!

Woah..... !!! Tak boleh tahan lah... I went and bought one. hahaha....
Good demo. Now I know why u use a Mac.
You are a good director as well!! Thumbs up !

NoMiS, i can't help but feature my furry felines in the vid coz they're my inspiration, haha. Most of the time when i plugged in my guitar with distortion cranked up, they'll snuggle close to the amp and fell asleep! I think repeated arpeggios or distorted alternate picking sounds like a lullaby to them, muahaha.
The drum loops (RHYTHM mode) did come from the PX4D but it's already programmed together with the bass patterns as well (which btw you can't alter). You can, however, specify the key to which the bass will play, then depending on the drum styles (8beat,metal,RnB,etc) it'll just play the pattern as programmed by Korg. You can also adjust the tempo of the drum beats (in BPM). But I don't use this RHYTHM mode often, instead i use the built-in metronome to practise licks/riffs in tempo.

Shredaholic, i paid 198 bucks for it about 3mths ago. It's different from Toneport by Line6 which is an interface for you to hook up your instruments to your PC/Mac. The PX4D is similar to Tascam's CD-GT2 or MP-GT1 which has common features like where you can slow down fast guitar riffs up to 50% its normal speed without changing pitch. With PX4D, you have to hook up your CD/MP3 player or computer. But with CD-GT2, you need your music CD whereas with MP-GT1, you can store the music right in it (MP3 format, up to 240 songs*)

jamu, haha you already bought it ha? Good to know lah, hope you have lots of fun with it...but don't end up spending too much time on it and become crazy like me (like how i did the vids, hehe)
