does the tremolo somehow serves like a floyd rose
wich i cn do dive bombs...

would it be good if i buy the guitar and change the tuners to schaller locking tuners?

pls feedbac...
thks

Yes I think you should reevaluate how your looking at the guitar.

Based on your asking about tremolo dive bombs and locking tuners, may I suggest maybe a super strat style guitar like an Ibanez RG series or a humbucker and Floyd Rose equipped Fender?

Please go test the guitar before trying to decide if it's for you.

And if you want to do some mods to it, why not look at a used piece?
Brand new doesn't always mean problem free.
Also, good used pieces are often taken care of by previous owners.

the prs se custom24 is a good guitar. change the tuners to locking tuners will be just fine too, as it will hold more intune while do divebomb or slight wobble. but for a new guitar, it doesn't worth the price loh imo.

I don't think you know what you're getting at all. Firstly, the PRS tremolo isn't even floating and trying a divebomb will probably result in your whammy bar breaking and something snapping. Secondly, locking tuners are not sufficient if you intend to do divebombs, you're gonna need a locking nut. And thirdly, divebombs? DIVEBOMBS??

I do divebombs and annoying squeels on my strat...and it stays in tune thanks to the Schaller locking tuners :)

From my experience...locking tuners do work. But its also about your bridge hardware, how do you play it etc. my american strat has a 2 point trem set to a floating configuration so that i can do pull ups.

Assuming you buy the guitar, do try doing a divebomb and then do a quick pull up after that. You'd be surprised that your guitar stays in tune better than you think :p

haha im using a 6 point wilkinson tremolo and its also floating. can do squealies and crazy wobbles, from lowest to highest point haha. and still stays quite in tune, maybe a few cents sharp or flat as im just using stock tuners.

but obviously a vintage whammy wont go as deep as a floyd rose in terms of divebombs
better try the guitar and see if you like it. haa

to the Tread Starter:

it'll be good if you can test out the guitar and see for yourself how the original trem performs. i own a PRS SE Paul Allender (basically a PRS SE Custom 24 with different fretboard inlays) and have switched out the original tuners to Spertzel locking ones. it works wonders after that. ok, you can still do divebombs and stuff, but it will go out of tune a bit, but pulling the trem UP will put it back to pitch really close. no problem with light trem work and all though.. i'm thinking of switching the orginal nut to Graphtech ones, so it will help a bit with the tuning some.. ;)

anw, good luck with your choice!! make sure to TRY the guitar first..

btw, i did a review of the PRS SE Paul Allender guitar, there's mention about switching the original tuners to the locking ones too. maybe it might help you some, here's the link: http://soft.com.sg/forum/guitar-reviews/49067-prs-se-paul-allender-guitar-review.html
