First things first, I picked up guitar one year ago and tried to learn it myself. I have been playing it on-and-off.

I use a classical guitar which I use a tuner to tune. However, it sounds lower/deeper than normal classical guitars. Imo, there's quite a significant difference. Is this normal? Or there's something wrong with my guitar?! D8

And if I am playing acoustic songs, which picks are more suitable? I have like different picks but no idea what's the difference? =///

Also, I play by ear, and I find it realllllyyyyy difficult to figure out the strumming of some songs. And sometimes, when I get the strumming correct, it sounds different from the song [maybe it's because of my guitar?]. Anw, my point is that I cant get the strumming right by ear. So any suggestions why/how?

Oh and if it's possible i would like to find someone who's superrrrrrr patient and knows a thing or two or more about guitar to teach me. Erm, location-wise can be negotiated?
(Preferably someone who has similar music tastes as me? /iz afraid of communication breakdown, etc.)

/typed a very long post.

Every guitar will sound different due to the wood and the body shape of the guitar.
For eg.A dreadnought shape guitar will sound fuller compared to a NEX/Grand auditorium shape guitar. The bigger the body the fuller the sound.

Picks generally are different due to its thickness.i use preferably 0.7mm or less picks.good for strumming easy on the strings.

If ur playing by ear,it only takes practise.years of experience to figure out what note is it.But theres an alternative, use online song tabs/chords(imo the easier way to learn songs)

im just a beginner myself, dont really have much experience on teaching but,you might wanna search youtube for some guitar tips.
