A friend of mine bought a K Custom Dry Light Ride (21") for almost 600 from Yamaha. That was about a year or 2 ago. I hope this info helps.

i like it although i not very good at using all the very dry rides yet. if u like to do alot of the jazzy stick work on e ride then u should like it. Go down to a shop and try? or youtube it im sure someone has a sample
 
hah.. i juz got the k custom dry ride 20"
well..imported from oversea.. so i guess it should be good..
cant try it though... well... yamaha usually quite pricey...

oops my bad buddy, didnt know yamaha was closed during this period.

anyway, enjoy the ride! pretty darn sexy ride really! prefer the k custom dark rides though. but still a killer killer ride!
 
i think dark ride are quite good though..

hear it though the zildjian website
ermmm....

somehow dry ride very DRY..haha.... no much of overtone...
maybe its preference of choices..
somehow these 2 ride are ideal rides for good recording n playing..
others will be too bright like A custom rides....
 
heh... depends on personal preference la... some folks will complain that a custom not bright enuff... go and buy paiste rude instead.... ;)
 
The K Dark Ride is nice really...I tried it 2 weeks ago at Yamaha Showroon, the one I tried looks pretty big - I think it's a dunno 21 or 22" one - cost around S$68something - but I love the sound....in fact I prefer it's sound than the Constantinople which was there also as I tried both ...... no doubt a very nice sounding Ride.
 
I just bought a 16" K Custom Session Crash just 2 hours ago, it costs me $366 after discount from the Yamaha Member Card with GST 7%.

Agarh agarh cao cao $550 for that Ride you want to buy.

yar lah, go call them. Use your home's phone if you do not have outgoing call for free. =P

haha.. so expensive.. for 16" at $366...
coz i also looking for K series 17" n 18"

K custom sound quite trashy tone...
K series sounded my stylez..

well.. by the way.. like what u say, $550 for a K custom dry ride abit steep in price..

anyway.. i felt i might not going to use it ... selling it at $470.. brand new..ha.. if anyone interested could juz pm me..

going to build my set on K series or K custom... but YAMAHA really mark up the price alot...
muz go through staff discount to have a better discount.. abt 15%..

well...i used to have 16" A custom n 18" sabian signture saturation crash...
too long for a substain..

but sold them off lez... well... do cymbal really cost so much... manufacture fee wouldnt cost that much either..

perhap can juz settle on istanbul which have good range over at Drumresource...
 
i have 18" K Custom Dark Crash and its my first professional cymbal that I bought. got it at very cheap price.. its a very versatile crash and the bell is good for playing as a ride. I also love to play it with mallet as the sound will built up beautifully...

sorry, im bad at describing something. :D

besides.. saw some ebay stuffs selling quite cheapp...the shipping cost bomb...
almost half of the actual price of the item...

haha... me kinda trying to look for this ELX 16" pearl export floor tom..
call up sweelee... dunno whether they will have....

owh... i got it used.. and the cymbal alrdy got keyhole but i dont think it effect the sound at all. based on its serial number, the cymbal born at 97 so its 10 years old now. i get it in 2005 for SD283 (RM650). the actual price here in Bentley KL is around RM800++ i think. Dunno the exact price but its around that figure.
