Anyone know how to preserve signatures around a guitar (Squier Strat)? Its all over the body.... even on the neck a bit.

I went to the shop and it was like $200. I was like .... speechless.

Oh all signatures were written in marker... so yea. Man.. i want to play and upgrade this guitar but when i use it... itll spoil the signatures...

Thanks in advance

$200 cos they'll spray a new layer of clear coat..

and they'll hafta do it to the WHOLE body, or else it will be uneven and it will be visible.

lol i know. but seriously.. i never thought about the film. i do know about the clear coat. if anymore ideas pls do feel free to add in... if its relevant. haha

i have a tommy emmanuel signature (what does the 'cap' mean) on my yamaha aes620
however, through extensive cleaning (aka wiping off) of the guitar, some parts of it has worn off...

since it's too late to preserve it, looks like i'll go for the 'relic' look ^^
OR i could get him to sign it again when he comes back to sg to play :D:D

Well look at my sig.... I didn't use any coats on it cause I took advise from a couple of the luthiers and they said its gonna be risky cause the markers used wasn't permanent.

1 of them advised me to get those this plastic film and paste it over... I'll try to take pictures of the back and post.
