Pre-SALE (1st July 06) discussion (guitars/ bass/ fx)

friends, it's happening again. lots of high hopes here, let's hope confusion & false expectations do not entail in frustrations- the reason why we should discuss what to buy: pros/ cons/ etc.

i don't know how useful my inputs were for the last swee lee sale (December 05) by asking you to state down what you want, but i'm giving it a go again. i'm sure there were some stuff you thought you wouldn't see @ the Bras Basah showroom but they did appear on the sale day- we have to thank the good SWEE LEE people there for listening. so list your intended purchases here, hopefully there would be enough quantity on the sale day for interested parties (subject to stock availability). some rules:

1. State product description comprehensively- state the colour if possible

2. If you don't know the exact model description, ASK here (politely of course)

3. There should be NO price enquieries, please make an effort to find out on your own accord

4. Do NOT ask which product is better- share your ideals, we'd help you match them.

5. Browse through these pages first before posting a certain query, if it's repeated, it'll be ignored (bona fide confusion/ ignorance will be forgiven, though 8) )

i think i'll be grabbing Metal zone Mt-2 and Compressor CS-3.
just that two.

but the thing is, i'm mixed up about the mt-2 gadget.
i've heard a clip on the mt-2 modded. sounds great. but the modded ds-1 is also great. i'm finding RHCP type of sound.

khai: if it's within your means- grab both, it's a SALE anyway. however, the DS-1 is not in stock. the MT-2 is available.

however, my friend, if you can save up/ have the funds by then, BOSS' GT8 is a worthy consideration, nevermind of you are a pedal purist.

we take it to mean floyd-type counterparts as well, yes (not all guitars sport an original floyd)?

hope there's something for you from Ibanez's Prestige offerings. however, do note that another Jap RG470 has mysteriously appeared @ BB showroom. no worries, this isn't the TRS equipped unit, it's the one-year-only Edge Pro equipped model. hard case included.

Fender DRRI comes to mind or a small Laney with nice cleans.

I'm a bit skeptical about the sale, I've heard rumours from some that they keep all the good stuff away.

I'm not making any accusations or starting a flame, just an enquiry for those who have been to the sale before.

not true- what you see before the sale, are available during the sale (of course, before people grab them). the last December sale saw even more items added into the fold on the eve of the sale day.

I tried the XXX but didn't like the onboard effects, I know you can turn them off but the very fact that they were there made me somewhat uncomfortable.

I'll be aiming for a small fender tube amp, single channel...shiokness.
