Well... I've been spending time training up, ebaying and playing guitar this holidays. So I thought it would be good - since quite a lot of people are also having their holidays - to share stuff to practice on guitar?

I'll kick off with the easiest stuff to practice... for those who don't know yet about it...

Code:
e|---------------------------------------------------1-2-3-4----------
b|-----------------------------------------1-2-3-4--------------------
g|-------------------------------1-2-3-4------------------------------
d|---------------------1-2-3-4----------------------------------------
a|-----------1-2-3-4--------------------------------------------------
e|-1-2-3-4------------------------------------------------------------

then proceed with 2-3-4-5, up and down scale, and reversing it 4-3-2-1.

I divide my practice into differeny sections...to make it more organised and goal oriented.....
For my practice regime it goes something like this:

Learn a whole song.... learning Alive by Pearl Jam
Practice scales....to increase dexterity and drill the scale in
Practice band songs....for weekedn jams
Try to Jam with some backing tracks.....to improve my improvisation
Learning new techniques...pinched harmonics

Hope its useful as a reference
 Keep On Rocking \m/

Ok mines abit diff.

Every day i learn a new song. Say top 40s. If im too tired or something, i will learn easy chord songs. example, beegees, beatles, or any other easier stuffs.

then i will practise chromatics. and do some techniques my teacher taught me. then improvise one backing track a day. but i only got a few backing tracks. so keep going over and over again :( heh

but my practise times are very "far apart", say maybe 30 mins i use to learn a song. then i can slack and go watch tv and come back 1 to 2 hours later then play again. haha

basically for me i know ive practised for long enuf when i actually drool on my guitar fret board.

hAHAHahah
like i do my chromatics or scales and stare at my fingers until i kinda zone out.. and i drool on my freakin fretboard.

THAT IS WHEN GUITAR AND GUITARIST BECOMES ONE.

well done ... it is the true indication of dedication.
