wat hapen?????

to whom it may concern,
at the last gig at hong lim park, power supply tapped from street lights distribution board.wat happen?did u guys overlooked on tis matter?u can put others into trouble, anything can happen, street lights has a very high discharged lamps tat sparks to light up,tat can cause power surge and amps to blow,be advice tat there's people watching.

hi rudy

you mean when the street lights are turned on, the supply where the band tap from will surge?

is the supply to the lamps and the supply to the socket on the same line?

It could be on a different circuit.

Remember the utilities needed to be used for other stuffs too. (eg. repair works, landscaping tools usage......etc)

Should be cleared by the relavent people in-charged. If not, what you are charging is quite a serious issue. I agree.

also, i think the lamps are turn on with delay relays. so that the surge is within safe limits. meaning some lamps on then followed by somemore lamps.

i am just guessing ok. but if i am an engineer, that is what i would design.

correct me if I'm wrong. I think the street lamps do not operate on 220V but much higher like 1KV or something.

Maybe the park's light could run on 220V. or 415V.

I not electrical guy, just electronics guy. So I'm just guessing.

without a p.e.(project engineer) or a qualified electrician,u can't just tap supply from any mcb's,lucky my fren is still alive, cos of money he jeoperdised his life for it.don try tat trick again, someone is watching 8O

You mean to tell us that you know what he has done is wrong. Should have stopped him there and then from being a jackass.

Why hold a concert if you did not have all the grounds covered. Not only you are risking yourself, but also for future such events from continuing.

We must be responsible for our action, and act so accordingly too.

Yes I fully agree, these stuff you at least need clearence, even if you know what you are doing.

i only knew about it a day after.jus wonder how u guys hold such gig, no power, tap anywhere, sound too soft, blast the speakers and amps.phew!u guys sure r rich and daring

hi rudy, i still dont understand what you are trying to point out. can you give more details as to what was the rating at the mcb? how does this situation actually present a danger to the musicians?

and when you said, "Someone is watching". did you meant yourself?

we are all here to share, dont say a little and then dont say a little lah.
