Power supply issues: Singapore gear in Manila

Hey guys. Wondering if any of you have played in Manila before? If you have, please do chime in.

I'm wondering what I would need in order to safely use my pedals in Manila. I'm basically powering them back here in Singapore with a 1spot and my M13 with its own power supply.

I understand that the electricity output in the Philippines and Singapore are different but I have found no answer to how to safely use my gear there without it frying.

Any help will be very very very appreciated by myself and my band! :)

Manila uses 220 as well. Just bring a 2 prong power plug converter and you will be alright. Where in manila are you playing?

No issues. As the others have mentioned, just bring a 3-prong to 2-prong converter and you'll be ok. The 10hz difference in cycles is a non-issue as far as guitar effects and amps.

adding on..

get those multiple travel adaptor, it might come in handy. Heres a wiki entry for the sort of adaptor they use over there.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_with_mains_power_plugs,_voltages_and_frequencies

to playsafe, get a powerstrip with surge protector. Just in case anything goes wrong with the supply, the surge protector will react first before allowing the power to the pedals and fry anything. Usually this kinda power stripp can be found in computer shops and more expensive than the usual power strip

and if still wanna be kiasu a bit, can try to get a portable elcb(earth leakage circuit breaker) adaptor. Its safety device that you plug in to the main socket and from there, you will connect the power strip to it. So if anything goes wrong from the mains, this elcb device will trip first to prevent damage to any devices downstream. For this,. i cant find a pic for it, pardon bout that. try simlim tower if wanna get this.

Thanks for the help guys! :) Feeling relieved that I don't have to get and bring a transformer with me.

We're playing at Saguio and Route 196 over a June weekend.

Thanks man. Will look at the ELCB adapter. Or if I can find, a smaller surge protector.
