Power Supply for M9 and other pedals

Hey guys, just wondering, is there any other power supply besides the CIOKs AC10 that is able to power the M9 as well as other individual effects?

I have been searching for a long time and cannot find any other compact power supply. Even the Cioks will require you to use both AC outlets in parallel with a special cable.

Probably the Furman power conditioners can handle it on the aux AC outlets, but that's not really a solution because you still need to plug in the original M9 power supply. http://www.furmansound.com/product.php?id=SPB-8

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing. Each AC outlet on the AC10 is 9vAC 800mA. Needs to be connected in parallel to get 9vAC 1.6A. As far as I know, Cioks does not sell such a cable but you can make one easily by splicing together two standard Flex cables. The only Y cables they make are Stack Flex cables which connect two DC outlets in series to get higher voltage.

Side note, even the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power AC's (an AC-only supply) highest outlet is 1.2A which may not power the M9 stably. Similarly the Modtone Power Plant's AC outlet is 1A only.

hah yup we're talking about the same thing. I use a mA doubler cable to power my Timefactor from my PP2+. But then the added mA is only 400. Not nearly enough for an M9.

Yup Cioks doesn't make such a cable. What you basically need, is this, cept you'd need cioks type plugs on the split ends and the regular DC-jack on the single end: http://cioks.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=35

Ask Marc, he had an M9 on his board once that (if rmb correctly) he had TY wire up to work from a Cioks (cant rmb if it was an AC10 though).

Hmm I see. Btw Justin, heard about this power supply from CK! That's why was wondering whether there were alternatives. Is it possible to use one of the one spot y cables? Or is that just a voltage doubler?

I don't think it's worth the trouble to modify OneSpot Y cables or even the standard Cioks Split Flex cable to have the right connectors at all 3 ends. If I'm not wrong TY can splice together two Flex cables for you easily, if you're going to get the AC10 there anyway. But best check with them.

That's the solution I'm leaning to myself when I eventually get a power supply. Now still carrying a Godlyke and the original M9 brick everywhere...

@skipper The PP2+ is DC, for your Timefactor. M9 needs AC.

Ian, 1 Spot cables don't have the right kind of jacks to fit into Cioks units. Check the cable pictures on the website you'll understand what i'm saying =)

hahahahaah very funny Sumit.:D Damn, I was hoping there were more alternatives out there.

@Justin: What pedalboard you using?

Decide to sell my CNB board cos IMO nothing still beats PT's design in terms of flexibility with arrangement of pedals as well as space constraints..

ooh it's like the stereo audio cable for certain Hi Fi systems right?
Yup it's that kinda head cos it "locks" better, but don't use audio cables! :P

I went from PT 2 to MrMisse to PT Jr. Agree that the slot design is still the best... only wish the frame wasn't so heavy. Been considering a PT Mini for simple jams but the M9 won't sit nicely on it.

Hmm, I used a PT mini with the m9, seventheaven and flex drive for a period of time (2 weeks), then my George Dennis Phaser came home. hahahahhaah

Yeah I was thinking Blackstone OD, M9 and blueSky can cover my usual jams, I'll just use the M9 to compensate for whatever's missing. The M9 will stick out a bit no? On the old mini with the back plate.

But even then the stupid power brick is a pain in the ass.

No leh, my was perfectly fine, just that there's no place to put the power brick haha. How come you're using the bluesky despite having the M9?

Heard from CK that the AC10's $270!!!! Huge hole in my pocket.

Hmm it fits? I always assumed it would stick out. Worth considering again... and you'll be surprised how much reverb I use haha.

$270.. we've all paid more for some pedals. But I just keep buying pedals rather than save up for the power supply. Lol.

haha for me, my delay's always on! Yeah man I'm still not sure whether I should spend that amount on a power supply. But with that, it opens up many different options of powering my pedals, For eg. I could power my 7th with 12V instead and Flex Drive with 18v! Wonder what that sounds like..

Wow that's impressive. Thicker but overall slightly smaller/lighter than the AC10. And competitive price. 484 PLN = 200 SGD.

Cioks products seem more polished with all that fancy lights, temperature monitoring etc.. but either way seems like the Polish are onto something...
