Power for pedals in japan

I'll be going to Tokyo for work in 2 months' time. Will be bringing my rig over there. Currently using a Godlyke adaptor for it but thinking of changing to t-Rex fuel tank jr or something along the line. Thinking of buying here to bring there.

Anyone has any recommendation for something I can bring and use in japan for powering the pedals? Or does anyone recommend that I buy it in Tokyo itself?

Depends. If it's from Swee Lee, Tokyo might be cheaper.
And it also depends. If the yen is weak, you may want to go and buy there, save yourself some cash.
The disadvantage is the language barrier. Unless you know Japanese fluently or the shopkeeper is fluent in English (fluent enough to talk guitars, other than randomly naming brands like Ibanez), you're both gonna be catching shadows.

Edit: Tokyo IS the most expensive city in the world, so...

Some of the nitty gritty stuff to take note of japan is.. the voltage is 100 instead of 240.
Other than that, just get a normal adaptor and you are fine.

Godlyke and 1Spot and almost all handphone chargers in the universe now will work fine with either 100V or 240V. So I'm not sure I understand the problem.

Thanks for the replies. Was thinking of getting isolated power supply for the pedals. News of pedals getting fried kind of frightens me. Bringing it to a country i've not much experience with frightens me more. And isolated power has many other benefits isn't it?

Guess i'll stick with Godlyke for now. Who knows what i can find it tokyo?

Pedals and other equipment get fried because the users did not know what they were doing, ie using 110V-only eqiupment in Singapore, or 240V-only equipment in Japan. Make sure you read the label before buying, ie the Apple iPhone wall charger has a label says that it can work from a 100V to 240V AC mains voltage, so I am using that now to charge my iPhone while in the hostel. Use the wrong supplies, get a big surprise.

As for where, Ochanomizu. You can find anything related to music instruments there. If you're really scared of using the mains to power your pedals while in Japan, use 9V batteries.

BRB heading to Ochanomizu.
