It's probably a great year for movie buffs..
Slumdog Millionaire was probably a deserving winner... And so is Heath Ledger, winning best supporting actor...

Anyone thoughts about the 81st Academy Awards?

Things I liked!

Kate Winslet, Sean Penn, Heath Ledger Wins!

The speeches delivered by Dustin Lance Black, Kate Winslet (Suck it Meryl and can you believe we were nominated with Meryl) and Sean Penn.

The way that each previous winner of the acting category came out to introduce and affirm each nominee.

Hugh Jackman's opening segment. Funny! Funny! Funny! And I did like what he did with Anne Hathaway.

Robert De Niro's introduction of Sean Penn.

Marion Cotillard...beautiful elegant and WOW! And her introduction of Kate.

Not so happy...

8 wins for Slumdog Millionaire. It clearly didn't deserve some of the technical awards. I thought Milk or TCCBB should have won Best Picture. Enough of Slumdog already!

heath ledger deserved it. no questions about it.

slumdog didn't deserve best picture.
it was good. but not amazing.

pretty upset at how much slumdog won... totally over credited.

Boyle deserved it fair and square, and for a long time coming. If I had any more faith left in the Academy, then it is purely because Slumdog won - Proof that films can adhere to conventions and still entertain without insulting the audience. Also I hate Anne Hathaway, especially in her new movie, but hell, she looks amazing. /filmnerdout

I felt that Mickey Rourke n marissa tomei shld have won awards for their role, and so shld robert downey jr, even tho that it was a comedy, he still acted great. I felt it was a little sympathy votes for heath, plus i nv trust actors who cried for him.

but i like the way it was less boring n more casual
