Post Mortem: Swee Lee Mid-Year sale

it's good to have a little pessimism with regards to anticipation, but the sentiments displayed here reeks of distrust. reminds me of the Fender Highway1 2-for-1 promo...

anyway, i'm glad that there are people in Swee Lee now who pay attention to the buyers' concern 8)

Well, I think 'reeks of distrust' is a bit strong, but again, going to their previous sale attempt at Sims (the Bullet example), is it any wonder? Having said that, perhaps you are referring to the abundant negative posts on Swee Lee's general 'got them over a barrel' pricing policy? For the large part I don't agree with this sentiment - I think their pricing is generally fair given the market conditions and Asia-in-general's distance from the manufacturers.

IMO, there are many people who aren't in favour of swee lee per se (personal maybe?), this is the reason why they are overcome with negativity every time the company conducts a sale.

the Squier BULLET oversight simply reflects a lack of depth with regards to product knowledge.

no no the squier bullet was a real...how to say? cheater? on their ad, they posted the pic of a squier standard strat, and they just mentioned "squier stratocaster, for $99!" and it turns out it's a strat bullet special! with no tone, no pickup switch, just a humbuckle and a volume knob. wow can do a lot with that!

it cuts both ways:

*you can see it as a downright cheating in progress, or

*some ignorant individual responsible for the ad thought that a mere strat would comprehensively represent all things strat, the Squier Bullet included...

in any case, the law covers misrepresentation, provided you are privy to the transaction, of course.
