i was wondering if any of you could recommend me a bass amp that is fairly portable .. and rather light weight(if there is any)

its rather annoying trying to drag a 20W amp around going to friends places if we wanna have practice sessions

ahahah why dont u wait for city music to bring in the vox amplug for bass! super duper portable. can be put in ur pocket.

for 20w i tink peavey microbass is quite light and good for practice sessions... i got one... its 9kg..

sometime in November. i'll probably post here when it comes in.

btw, the amPlugs can't really produce sound by themselves, you need to hook them up to a pair of earphones or speakers after plugging it into the bass.

yeah, it uses 2 AAA batteries. it even comes with batteries, so no need to buy beforehand.

I just bought Korg pandora PX5D from city music. it is pocket size can work as portable amp with earphones. Quite satisfied with it, can drum loop, pluck in ipod as aux, got about 70+ guitar effects and 20+ bass effects, got built in tuners, etc and much more. Google it for more of its capabilities. good buy imo. Cost me 230+ cos it was sales price. Not sure if its still on sales price though, but then again, can call city music to check :D

the phil jones bass buddy is as good as a headphone amp as it gets. and i'm not just saying that because i'm selling one.

oh, by the way, i'm selling one. boutique.

I too have been looking for a portable bass amp/speaker, much like those mini portable electric amps. But from my research online it seems that for the low frequency tones that a bass produce, the amplification is dependent on the volume of the speaker box. So I guess having an ultra portable mini speaker for bass is not possible.
