Poor Workmanship

hey ppl,
how's it goin..

juz wanna share with u guys out there.
sent my guitar to KC on tues, said it would be ready before the wkend.
geetah had some fret buzz problems.
so i decided to send it there for a proper setup after hearing good reviews on his workmanship.

so i collected it back todae.
did a brief try out at Zen. sounded n felt ok.
but when i got home,
upon further inspection,
the guitar had apparently been dropped or knocked hard.
cuz the upper fret apparently has dents that e G n B strings sit nicely into.
(my guitar is kept safely in hardcase so no possible way to get dents)
e strings slot so nicely into the groove that it affects playing.
wad a disappointment.
and to my horror, *heart pain*
the truss rod cover has glue stains from God knows where.
and we all know that glue melts plastic.
so i dun realli know where to get a replacement truss rod cover which has the
words 'Les Paul Custom'.

im utterly disappointed at this.:twisted:
sendin my beloved guitar to a supposedly skilled luthier and it comes back mutated somewhat.:evil:
its apparent that he does do his job rather well.. but clearly neglects proper guitar care.
very poor respect if not none for people's guitars.

cuz the guitar's an epiphone les paul custom.
i have grown attached to it.
if a re-fret job needs to be done, the binding would surely be affected.

any recommendations from fellow softies?
anybody else i can go to?
it would very much be appreciated.

+1. I had the same experience with one of my guitars with KC. After that I took it to Dan Music and wah what a difference it makes. Great and friendly service. Most important of all, cheap.

The uncle who did my guitar at Dan Music is just great and pleasant to talk to. Will send my other guitar to him soon.....

I believe it was under your brother's recommendation that you came to me. The fretwork on the Epiphone was horrendous and almost every fret end had to be glued back in. I still regarded it as a setup. I tried to salvage the guitar without suggesting a refret as I figured you were a student on a budget.

If you can send me a PM and explain to me the situation, I would correct the problems you're unhappy with.

If your intention is to ruin my reputation, its not going to happen as my testimonials speaks for itself. This though, does not give me an excuse to be sloppy. However I may still make the occasional oversight and I'm willing to rectifiy the problems cited - that is my priority. As a service provider, I've had a few prior complains but most of them have been resolved as they have come back to explain to me the situation

I hope I can resolve yours too.

have Pm-ed u on the probs..
juz wanna clear it up that i am not in anyway intend to ruin ur reputation
as we're all tryin to earn a living here in SG.
many of us noe its not easy..

like i've mentioned earlier.
i like the setup, the LP does feel better.. don't get me wrong.
its just that i felt the the guitar has been neglected..

hence this is just a head's up for people..

thank you for setting up the guitar once again KC..
lookin forward to the recitification.

Some personal experience... Dan Music? Had a bad nut job to one of my guitars. Did not bother going back. He gave me lots of attitude that day.

Maybe the Dan Music of today is different. That experience was from 2 years ago...
