How has advancement in technology, affect how you, as an individual, obtain music. Vote and give some comments too.

i think as technology advances, music has become a lot easier to obtain, either through legal or illegal means.

however, i believe that most people would rather obtain a hard copy(CD) of their songs, rather than a soft copy if they are gonna pay for it. this is probably because of our nature of appreciating tangible objects more.

while there are some who actually do use the internet to buy songs legally(itunes store etc.), most people who use the internet to obtain their songs, do it illegally. this is something that we should stop if we want the music industry to grow.

The Recording industry posted record profits in 2008, mostly on the back of DRM free digital downloads. There production costs are way down so they make more money by doing less.

The group of people who spend the most money on legal downloads are the same people who pirate.
